The Salem County Department of Health and Human Services will be distributing more than 100 free box fans to eligible seniors and disabled residents during the beginning of July. The fans are made available through a partnership between the County Office on Aging & Disabilities and Mid-Atlantic States Career and Education Center.

“Through the kindness of Mid-Atlantic, we are able to continue this annual event to help our residents get through some of the hottest days of the year,” said Freeholder Director Robert Vanderslice, who also chairs the Health Committee.

Distribution sites and dates are:

  • July 6: Carneys Point Municipal Building, 10 am – noon
  • July 11: Upper Pittsgrove Municipal Building, 10 am – noon
  • July 18: Cedar Lane Auction, 10 am – noon

To receive a fan, bring proof of residency and age. A Social Security award letter or Medicare card can show proof of disability. The fans are available while supplies last.
