Today, medical professionals are urging residents to take precautions to protect their health as New Jersey is experiencing high air pollution. The poor air quality is a direct result of the heavy winds blowing smoke towards the Southern New Jersey region caused by dozens of forest fires in Canada. Please head the NJDOH’s recommendations:

To help mark the 20th anniversary of Salem Health and Wellness Foundation, an Anniversary Video Series highlighting partnerships with local nonprofit organizations was created.

Beginning July 16, 988 will become the nationwide dialing code for crisis & suicide prevention. This will allow anyone to call 988 and get help specifically designed for someone dealing with a mental health crisis.

Through the collaboration of several county entities, a registry was created as a voluntary service open to anyone who lives in Salem County that is affected in some way by a physical, mental, or developmental disability.

Burnout occurs when someone is under chronic stress. It is a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion which can be brought on by many different factors.

The Salem County Department of Health & Human Services has developed this guide to provide ready access to the many community resources available to our residents.
