Salem County Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Drug and Alcohol Treatment and Prevention Services and Municipal Alliance will be offering a free interactive substance abuse prevention workshop “Hidden in Plain Sight”. This event will take place on Wednesday, April 17 6pm-8pm at the Salem County Vocational School Gymnasium.

Hidden in Plain Sight is an engaging awareness event for parents, caretakers, educators and youth workers. The workshop will present a closer look on current drug trends and share how to start a conversation with your teen. The program is an interactive exhibit designed to resemble a teenager’s bedroom, with 100 plus items which may be indicative of dangerous and risky behaviors. The audience is given 30 minutes for a “snoop and search” which allows the audience time to walk through and observe the bedroom. Due to the nature of the materials presented, this event is for adults only.

To register, contact Victoria Maurizio, who coordinates the County’s Municipal Alliance Program at 856-935-7510 extension 8449, or email her at Victoria.maurizio@salemcountynj.gov
