On Tuesday, October 1, 2020, beginning at 10:30 am, the Salem County Board of Chosen Freeholders through the Salem County Department of Health and Human Services will host the 16th Annual Disability Awareness Day event. This year, the event will be held as a “Drive-In Event” held in our partner’s location, Appel Farm Music and Arts Campus, located at 457 Shirley Rd, Elmer, New Jersey.

Disability Awareness Day will include socially distanced car side visits from vendors to share information on services available to Salem County residents. To keep everyone safe, the vendors will travel to attendees, while they remain in their vehicles. At 11:30 am, we will begin our program, which will include our keynote speakers, Melanie and Emma Ayers. We will also announce our 2020 Crusader Award Recipient, to an individual or organization, who is making a difference in the lives of persons with disabilities in Salem County. As guests depart the event, they will be provided a hot grab and go meal to take home and enjoy in the comfort of their homes.

Courtesy transportation via Salem County SCOOT Transportation is available if needed. All the SCOOT vehicles are equipped with lifts for those who need accessible accommodations. If transportation is needed, please advise when registering.

Advance registration is required as participation is limited. For further information, or to register for the event, please contact the Salem County Office on Aging and Disabilities at 856-339-8622 during business hours of 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
