  • More than 1 million sexually transmitted infections are acquired every day worldwide, the majority of which are asymptomatic. (World Health Organization)
  • In 2020 there were an estimated 374 million new infections with 1 of 4 curable STIs: chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, and trichomoniasis. (World Health Organization)
  • In 2023, there were a total of 405 reported cases of STIs, amongst Salem County residents, including Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, and Syphilis. Likewise, 44 Hepatitis C cases and 7 HIV cases were also reported in 2023, respectively (New Jersey Department of Health Communicable Disease Reporting Surveillance System).
