Special Child Health Services
Nursing Division

Special Child Health Services provides Case Management services to families of children with special health care needs. Case Management is a voluntary, free service provided to children with special needs. We make referrals to and/or assist families to access state, federal and community resources including, but not limited to:
- NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities
- NJ Division of Children and Families
- Catastrophic Illness Children's Relief Fund
- Local Charitable Organizations
- Financial Assistance Programs
Who is Eligible?
Children age birth to 22 years, who are Salem County residents and have special health care needs. Children with "special needs" include those with:
- Long-term medical conditions
- Physical disabilities
- Birth defects
- Developmental disabilities
- Traumatic Brain Injury
- Autism

The Special Child Health Services Program, together with the County Board of County Commissioners, funds case management units in each of New Jersey’s 21 counties. This case management unit is available to work with you to promote family-centered, community-based care and coordinate services delivery for your child.
