Senior, Disabled and 5311 Non-Urbanized Transportation

If you meet the requirements below, the Salem County SCOOT Transportation Service is available to you.

Eligibility

  • Salem County Resident
  • 60 years of age or older
  • A person with a disability
  • Person living is designated rural area

Fares

$3.00 one way for a Non-Medical Trip.

Reservations

  • Monday through Friday
  • 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
  • A minimum of 48 hours / 2 business days advanced notice is required
  • Up to one year in advance

Decorative: red alert triangleTransportation is a curb to curb service. Every effort will be made to accommodate your request, however, trips are scheduled on a first come, first served basis. If a participant does not ride as scheduled without canceling at least 6 hours prior to pick-up, it is considered a NO-SHOW. Three NO-SHOWS means a suspension of service for 30-days.

Assisted Transportation

This program provides help for residents 60 years of age or older who are unable to safely ride the SCOOT Transportation System alone and have no one to help them ride the van. For more information contact SCOOT Transportation at 856-339-8644.

Donation Policy

Each Customer that has been transported under these programs Title III & SSBG may make a donation to the services. Project funded under the Senior Citizen and Disabled Resident Transportation Assistance Act (Casino Fund), FTA 5310, and FTA 5311 funds.

2026 SCOOT Short-Term Program Goals

Below is a list of 3 goals and milestones on how Scoot Transportation will obtain these goals:

Goal 1.

Increase presence on Social Media Platforms – Engage with our public in a way that will introduce Scoot Transportation to those who may otherwise not be aware of our program

  • Milestone 1: Submit monthly updates, calendars and highlights on our website and facebook
  • Milestone 2: Highlight any event in which Scoot is present

Goal 2.

Increase ridership – Continue to grow our program and support those in our community who have no other means of transportation

  • Milestones 1: Analyze monthly ridership data for increases and decreases by area
  • Milestones 2: Run targeted calls, advertising and social media to areas showing decrease

Goal 3.

Branding awareness – Making our program recognizable within the community

  • Milestone 1: Ensure all marketing materials are consistent
  • Milestone 2: Ramp up the use of Scoot Mascot and distribution of promotional items
